The Philosophy Behind Fun-Jitsu
I created Fun-Jitsu to provide BJJ instruction to kids between the ages of 5-18 within a fun, clean and safe environment that is specifically designed to teach kids the most effective form of self-defense.
I’ve studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 15 years. And as a father to two young daughters, I wanted to pass along my love for BJJ and also instill within them the core values that I have learned through BJJ: respect, creativity, resilience, dedication, intelligence, strength, compassion, and flexibility.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a school with a training environment that I felt was both safe and hygenic for my daughters, much less one designed specifically for children and teens. Although there are many excellent BJJ schools and instruction all over the country now, too many schools lack the ability or commitment to teach BJJ to kids. As for the other traditional martial arts schools . . . well, let’s just say that their true effectiveness is dubious at best.
Fun-Jitsu is designed to teach kids BJJ self-defense skills in a fun, clean and safe environment. We use only positive coaching motivation and through BJJ also strive to teach kids the self-confidence, creativity and mental toughness that are necessary to surmount all of the challenges that they might face in life. Whether it’s dealing with bullying at school or maybe just a really tough English or Math test, I believe that this system will provide your son or daughter with the skills necessary to overcome any challenge.
